We tighten our bike helmets and dodged the Atlanta traffic, finally making it across the state of Georgia safely. Meghan, Jean and I could not wait to get to Greenville, SC and were headed straight downtown. Downtown Greenville is ranked among “America’s Ten Best” by Forbes Magazine and is known for its scenic attractions. We made our way to Falls Park on the Reedy and climbed up the Liberty Bridge that overlooks Reedy River Falls. After having just traveled 291 miles from Birmingham, AL, you could say our legs were a bit tired but we couldn't miss out on the views. We were greeted by many fellow bikers enjoying the Swamp Rabbit Trail within the park. Greenville actually has a bicycle friendly community initiative called Bikeville so we couldn’t have felt more at home. We snapped beautiful pictures and enjoyed this oasis within the city for the rest of the afternoon.
We have all become quite the foodies on this trip, always indulging in the local food and Greenville was no exception. I am a huge barbecue fan and this Midwest girl never passes up the opportunity to enjoy true southern cooking and we did just that at Smoke On the Water. We relished in the downtown scene for the night and greeted the team at Springs at Greenville the following morning. We enjoyed a relaxing morning by the pool on a beautiful spring day before strapping back on our three seater and heading towards to coast to Charleston. See you soon Springs at Essex Farms!
WHERE ARE WE NOW?
