The primary challenge was that after two years of lease negotiation, obtaining all necessary entitlements for a two-tenant development, a primary tenant walked away from the project, forcing our team to pursue another acceptable co-tenant for Buffalo Wild Wings. Several were vetted but none were prepared to move on the opportunity. Our retail team, led by Steve Wagner, Vice President of Retail Leasing, was able to change gears, turning the property into a multi-tenant development, and finding four suitable tenants, all while protecting Buffalo Wild Wings' place in the development.
Continental filled a market need for casual dining in Germantown, Wisconsin. Construction was completed and the project was delivered and sold on April 30, 2015, less than 11 months from groundbreaking.
