Continental Announces Partnership with ArtLifting

Continental is excited to announce its partnership with ArtLifting, an organization dedicated to giving underrepresented artists a platform to share their artwork with others. With a portfolio representing 180 artists across 33 states, ArtLifting focuses on individuals facing housing instability or navigating the unique aspects of living with disabilities. 

According to the organization’s website, “ArtLifting is about creating opportunity, empowerment, and validation. We offer artists the chance to secure their own income through the sale of original paintings, prints, and products. By showcasing and selling artwork via ArtLifting, artists gain self-confidence that permeates all aspects of their lives.” 

“Through our partnership with ArtLifting, Continental Properties is able to offer a hand up and support a local artist from within or near the communities we develop,” said Kelly Luther, Senior Director of Design, Quality, and Business Partners. “One of Continental’s values is ‘Respect for the Individual’ – we embrace our differences and similarities because we know our Diversity of Thought makes us better and unites us.” 

Artwork that Continental acquires through ArtLifting will be showcased in our community clubhouses across the country. Authentix Kalamazoo is Continental’s first community to proudly display local art. Yvette, an Army veteran who grew up in Michigan, is the talented artist behind the piece. She shares, “Art reminds me that I am not limited due to my disabilities, but the world is my canvas, and I can paint every story I feel." 

Lita Dirks & Co., Continental’s third-party design partner, collaborates closely with our team and ArtLifting to select artwork for our communities. Cassy Weber Gogas, Director of Performance at Lita Dirks & Co., shares, “ArtLifting is an amazing organization. They understand the impact and importance art has in our daily lives. Art can lighten up a room, be a conversation starter, evoke thought and creativity and simply bring a smile to someone’s face. LD&Co is honored and proud to showcase and support local artists around the country through our partnership with Continental Properties.” 

Continental is proud to support ArtLifting and their mission to provide local artists a platform and help them achieve a better quality of life.
